Join Okefenokee Swamp Park Cultural Interpreter, Leslie Ranew, on April 28 and May 26th at 10 AM in the Nature Center for programs on the cultural history of the Okefenokee Swamp. Content for the program surveys geography, prehistoric cultures, Native Americans, Crackers, pioneer living, economic development and the OSP. Each cultural program cost $12 for those living within the 8 county Okefenokee RESA area and includes admission into the park, along with the Eye on Nature Show, Swamp Creation and Old Roy exhibits, a train ride on Lady Suwannee into the swamp to Pioneer Island and a self-guided walking tour on the low walkway to the 90ft. observation tower. For those living outside the Okefenokee RESA area the cost will be $17, with Swamp Passport holders and OSPrey Society donors being able to attend for FREE. Pre-registration by April 23 for the April class is required by calling the Okefenokee Swamp Park at (912) 283-0583.
