Description
Gogo Ferguson is an artist with a unique perspective on nature. The intricacies and detail of natural forms whether they be from flora and fauna or bones and shells, have inspired her to transform their unique designs into wearable art as well as home accessories. Patterns in the sand, the spiral of the inside of a conch, the intricate shape of a rattlesnake vertebra, armadillo shell or shark vertebra are all honored in her designs. The use of nature for adornment and enjoyment in ones life is a tradition embraced and passed down in many cultures for thousands of years.
Gogo's life on Cumberland Island Georgia, home to her family for six generations, has gifted her with an insatiable sense of wonder and respect for her natural surroundings. Through the wisdom of her Grandmother, she was trained early on to recognize the infinite beauty of the natural world around her. Throughout her travel around the world and in the simplest of cultures she has found a common thread of incorporating nature into ones life. Gogo and her family have chosen to split their time between Cumberland Island Martha's Vineyard and San Miguel De Allende. Three havens of beauty which continue to inspire her line of jewelry and home accessories.
