To celebrate the 150th anniversary of the founding of Wesley Monumental United Methodist Church (Savannah, GA), the Wesley Monumental Choir will perform Johann Sebastian Bach's Magnum Opus, the Mass in B Minor, with full orchestra.
Event Details
The Mass in B Minor is "universally considered the ultimate example of artistic expression and achievement"(Harvard University Office for the Arts). Due to its extreme difficulty, opportunities to hear the Mass in its entirety are rare. This will be its first performance by a Savannah choir.
Wesley Monumental Church is a monument to John and Charles Wesley, the founders of Methodism. Methodists all around the world contributed funds to build the church. It is said to belong to ALL Methodists.
