Description

A double-header evening of psychedelic rom-biance (copyright that!) is coming to The Wormhole in Savannah, GA on Valentine's Day, 2020.

Event Details

SQUASH - Formed in 2015 and featuring the twin guitars of Rhett Hutcheson and Russell Shostak, the fat grooves of bassist Kevin Prussa, and the trance-inducing rhythms of Shaffer, Squash mix the influences of Phish, Pink Floyd, Grateful Dead, and Sublime into a concoction they describe as a “four-piece shredding beast chock full of psychedelic soundscapes mixed with tight grooves and deep pocket bass.”

With a rich mix of styles and flavors, Squash have become a mainstay in Savannah’s music venues and have shared the stage with a variety of touring acts such as Particle, Pigeons Playing Ping Pong, The Heavy Pets, and Consider the Source. They feel as comfortable playing with hippy jam bands, as they do with metal/progrock groups.

“Bands describing themselves can be tough, but we call our selves a rock-funk-psychedelic explosion with funk and dance-y undertones,” Shaffer added about their music. “It makes for some real heavy, intricate writing integrated with danceable grooves, with a dash of jamtronica.”

THE AL GORE RHYTHMS - "Not only does Tybee’s The Al Gore Rhythms have a great band name, the group also plays some pretty great music. It’s a really engaging mix of funk, progressive rock, and jam band influences that make for a fun show, and something music fans of all kinds will love."
