Event Details
Mark the season of Lent, the 40 days before Easter, with a special evening service. Prelude music begins at 5:05 p.m. where guest organist, William McNair, will play Brahms, Bach, and Thalben-Ball. Recently retired as organist and handbell choir director at First Presbyterian Church of Savannah, Mr. McNair specializes in composing/arranging sacred music and curates Hymnsfororgan.org. Mark your calendars so you won't miss hearing his work!
The service begins at 5:30 p.m. followed by a reception with light refreshments in the historic Green-Meldrim House. We have free lot parking on the corner of Harris & Whitaker Streets.
What is a Choral Evensong? It is an evening service based on the classical Anglican Prayer Book. The clergy and choir use music and song to represent the congregation who participates silently in heart and mind.
