Under the Oaks Run

Description

The USATF sanctioned 13.1 Half Marathon will start at 7:30am at Summer Waves Waterpark on Jekyll Island followed by a USATF sanctioned 10K at 8:00am and a 5K at 8:15am. Runners can feel good about this event knowing that their participation fee is helping expand a building for the students at Saint Simons Christian School and a portion of the proceeds will be given to the Jekyll Island Foundation which supports the Georgia Sea Turtle Center and other conservation and preservation initiatives. The students have always made the Georgia Sea Turtle Center a part of their educational experience and are looking forward to being able to support the preservation and conservation efforts of the Foundation with funds raised from the additional 13.1 Half Marathon. The ORION timing team came to Jekyll and ran/rode the 13.1 course. Comments that came back to us were; "It is hands down all of our favorite course we have done and you have done an amazing job creating the course. I would market the course as: shaded, picturesque, flat, and fast!" We welcome runners to a course that goes from the beaches to the marsh and under the majestic oaks of Jekyll Island!
