Description
We love seeing Tybee on the big screen! And, now, thanks to the Hallmark Channel, we have another chance. Their sweet new romance, "The Beach House” was filmed on Tybee last year and premieres in late April. And our island has never looked better!
Event Details
“The Beach House,” a Hallmark Hall of Fame original film, stars Andie MacDowell, Minka Kelly, and Chad Michael Murray and is adapted from a book by Mary Alice Monroe.
The movie sees Cara Rutledge, played by Kelly, thinking she’d left her Southern roots and troubled family far behind. She returns to the South Carolina Lowcountry (represented by Tybee, of course) of her childhood summers after losing her job in Chicago and reconnects with her mother Lovie (MacDowell). Before long, the rhythms of the island open Cara’s heart. She becomes a “turtle lady” who conserves the area’s wildlife, repairs the family beach house and renews a past romance with Brett (Murray).
Let’s fill the Theater for this family-friendly community get-together, commercials and all! You’ll be glad you did! It’s free. No reservations. Donations accepted. Get to Theater a little early. The movie starts promptly at 7 pm and you’ll want to get your libations first! And remember our “Love at the Shore” Viewing Party; there were only three empty seats In the Theater!
